Finding Myself In Fashion
March 13, 2013 in Fashion, The Zuriel Diaries
I recently joined the club of college drop-outs and genius’ (Major Sarcasm) in order to pursue a career in Fashion. My motivation and drive to stay in college dwindled over time until the boringness of the health care field got to me, and here I am now thinking whether or not I’m making the right choice. My dad who you would have probably guessed is quite angry with my decision, asked me a question “Why Fashion?”. It was funny how I couldn’t answer this simple question, considering the fact that Fashion has been a passion of mine for a long time. But in all honesty, I don’t know what I want to do in the future and what part of the Fashion Industry I’d like to work in.
So why Fashion?
I guess it has got to do more than having a passion for it, but more of the beauty of power that it wields. The fascination, and curiosity of the human mind to create Avant Garde pieces, delving into the experiences, pain, joy of the human existence. To be able to influence the world, to strive to look good and obtain the latest suit; to portray people in movies, to tell a police man and a fireman apart, to set a good impression, these are what Fashion does. It’s fascinating how we don’t think about it, but Fashion is everywhere.
I’m still finding myself in Fashion, but one day, no matter how short the experience, I’d like to have my own Fashion show where I get to see my designs worn by models walking down the runway for everyone to see. Or to work as a stylist along side Rachel Zoe, or other stylist. To be a Fashion Journalist/Writer for Vogue. Or even host for a Fashion television show (RIP Fashion TV). But right now I want to share with you my thoughts, my work, and my adventures in Fashion on my blog.
I will work hard and hope to meet aspiring fashionista’s and fashionisto’s along the way and hope one day I’ll be able to find myself somewhere.
